ACME 50582

CIWL Type MU sleeping car

UIC number (FS) ex-CIWL Rev. date
61 83 72-81 750-3 4856 7.2.75

173 g; 141 g after removing the ballast (NEM: 121 to 158 g).

According to the ACME catalogue, this model is a Modern Gala production (like LS Models) distributed exclusively by ACME.

The shape of the wheels (ø 11 for 960 real, correct) is different depending on whether they are isolated or not. Too low about 1 mm.

Steps and CIWL badges are made of photo-etched metal. The compartments are arranged either in single or double. I put one of them in day position (with armchairs).

The body and the roof are in one piece. The chassis is snapped on by six clips on each side, clinging to mortises in the glazing.

Wrong self-checking number; should be 1.

  • Adjustment of body height with a 0.75 mm spacer on the doors end and 0.5 mm on the opposite side.
  • Ballast (32 g) deleted.

Coaches No. CIWL 4833 to 4868 (UIC) built by FIAT from 1973 to 1974, air-conditioned. They are characterized by the fact that they do not have skirts between the bogies, and that the two toilets are side by side, compartments side. The UIC numbers change according to the owner administration and the regime (61: national park; 71: TEN pool).
