Comments

Bogies correct. Wheels ø 9.6 for 840 real, correct. Non-detailed floor (no wood grain, no rivets). The tie rods are inserted, but the struts are much too thick. The brake equipment is moulded with the chassis.

Floor dimensions, for loading: 125 × 28

Overall dimensions are closer to 1:86 than 1:87.

I think to make a “Z” wagon — reformed — its bottom being loaded with a mixture of old ballast and vegetation.

Modifications

Buffers, bogies, wheels, chassis tie rods and floor painted. Weathering tests with the Tamiya set.

History

Quotation of Loco-Revue.

All major French railways, except the Est and the Alsace-Loraine, shared in 1920/1921 a large fleet of wagons introduced in France by the US Army in 1917/1918 (Pershing and Felton fleet). Acquired by the French Ministry of Public Works, they were retro-ceded in lease-purchase to the railways to compensate for the war losses.

UIC numbers 21 87 593 7 000 à 9 999 (see details of the sub-series in the Loco-Revue sheet).

They were all withdrawn before 1970.
